Kene Mkparu is Founder and Group MD/CEO of Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne Production/Distribution Nigeria has over 25 years cinema and film industry experience.

In Aug 2016, he launched the first IMAX cinema in West Africa, in Lekki Lagos, Nigeria, complete with Signature Dine-in cinema offerings.

In 1991, Kene began his career in the film industry as General Manager with Odeon UK. When he returned to Nigeria in 2008, as managing director, he set up and launched Genesis Deluxe Cinemas. He was also the managing director and ceo of FilmAFRICA UK, a production & distribution company that specialized in releasing African films in mainstream UK cinemas. This is a position he held from 2005 – 2008.

Filmhouse cinemas has a chain of 12 cinemas and a strategic roll-out plan to reach 25 cinemas by 2018.
